Our new Vintage Oak is an antique-distressed engineered wood flooring with a 1/4″ thick White Oak veneer, on top of a 1/2″ thick plywood. Most engineered hardwood flooring is a measly 3/8″ or 1/2″ overall thickness. Like all our hardwood flooring, we spare nothing when it comes to quality. The hand-scraped rustic texture, reclaimed brown and grey tones, UV Cured Aluminum Oxide finish, and unsurpassed quality control, ensure this Vintage Oak hardwood flooring will provide countless years of warmth and durability.
Why does thickness matter?
Thickness is crucial when it comes to our antique-distressed engineered wood flooring as it impacts durability, stability, and performance in fluctuating climates.Thicker boards generally offer greater stability, reducing the likelihood of warping, shrinking, and swelling due to changes in humidity and temperature. Additionally, a thicker wear layer allows for multiple refinishes, extending the floor’s lifespan and maintaining its appearance over time. Our Vintage Oak can be refinished as many times as a solid hardwood flooring!
