What is Skiplap Wall Cladding?

Well we’re glad you asked. In short Skiplap is better than Shiplap, our exclusive line of Skiplap wall cladding is tongue and grooved on all 4 sides which makes it a zero waste wood wall cladding. The tongue and groove pattern allows it to be blind nailed instead of face nailed as required of Shiplap. Shiplap, by definition, are “boards that have been milled so that the top and bottom of each piece has a rabbet joint, so they can be stacked as siding“. In other words, shiplap wood wall boards rest on top of each other and overlap, while tongue-and-groove boards join together and interlock.

Proudly made in the USA, our prefinished Skiplap wood wall cladding is arguably the highest quality crafted and prefinished wood wall paneling on the market. Our top of the line Skiplap wall cladding is custom kiln dried to 6-8% moisture content and proudly produced from salvaged and SFI Certified Douglas Fir and Beetle Killed Pine. Skiplap wall boards are graded to our 99% usable specifications and ready to install. They are packaged in easy to handle boxes that contain 8 boards and covers 17.7 square feet.
